The European Commission has launched a public consultation on how the EU can ensure that the digital economy is taxed in a fair and growth-friendly way.
Taxing the digital economy has become an issue of pressing importance – politically and economically. This public consultation will feed into the work underway on the digital taxation proposals for next year and runs until 3 January 2018.
All EU citizens, businesses and organisations interested in the evolution of the digital economy are welcome to contribute to this consultation. The answers provided will form an important part of the Commission's analysis and future proposals. In this way, this is the chance to contribute to policy making. The Commission will consult national tax authorities, experts and other key stakeholders separately. Nevertheless, representatives of these categories are still welcome to contribute to this public consultation.
