The European Parliaments inquiry committee into the Panama Papers scandal will kick off its work on Tuesday 27 September at 09:00 with a public hearing with the journalists who revealed the scandals, followed by a press conference in which the committee's work programme will be presented.
The members of the committee will have a discussion with some of the journalists who revealed the scandal. They will zoom in to the investigative work, conclusions and possible recommendations of the journalists who were working together through the Washington based International Consortium for Investigative Journalism (ICIJ).
Directly afterwards - around 11:30 - there will be a press conference in Parliament's press conference room during which committee chair Werner Langen (EP, DE) and the two co-rapporteurs Jeppe Kofod (S&D, DK) and Petr Jezek (ALDE, CR) will present an outline of the work programme for the committee.
