Prof. dr. Mariken van Hilten has been appointed as Professor of indirect taxes at the Faculty of Law as of 1 January 2016.
The ACTL is very happy to announce that Prof. dr. Mariken van Hilten has been appointed as Professor of indirect taxes at the Faculty of Law of the University of Amsterdam as of 1 January 2016. She will particularly focus on the supervision of PhD students and lecturing for the UvA-IBFD Advanced Master in International Tax Law: Principles, Policy and Practice.
 
Mariken van Hilten is justice of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and will combine her work as justice with the position of Professor at the University of Amsterdam. Van Hilten publishes regularly in national and international journals. Before being appointed as justice she was Advocate-General of the Dutch Supreme Court, Professor at the VU University in Amsterdam, judge at the Court of Appeals in Amsterdam and 's-Hertogenbosch, Professor at the Leiden University and tax lawyer at KPMG Meijburg & Co.
