The EU's Council of Economic and Finance Ministers will take place in Brussels this Friday (15 November 2013). The European Commission will be represented by Vice President Olli Rehn, Commissioner Michel Barnier and Commissioner Algirdas Šemeta. The formal session will start at 10.30.
The Council will be called on to agree on strengthened rules on the taxation of savings income. The Single Resolution Mechanism is another agenda's item, which will attract a lot of attention. The Council will discuss issues in relation of the EC's proposal with a view to reaching a general approach. The agenda will also cover the following subjects: Anti-money laundering, Standard VAT return, international accounting standards and a state of play of the banking union developments
